NOSE SPROCKET CONCEPT

  CRADLE™ NOSE SPROCKET
CONCEPT

A patented new design is now used in the sprocket nose of OREGON® professional and Harvester guide bars. The new nose is called the Cradle™. It takes its name from the radical way the sprocket’s outer race provides support for the chain as it travels around the guide bar nose. Instead of the load being born on the tips of the sprocket teeth, the pressure is now spread out over the large surface area between each tooth. The design ensures that a compressive load is applied on the sprocket outer race rather than a tensile loading across the sprocket teeth.

BENEFITS
  • This feature greatly contributes to the elimination of failure due to broken sprocket nose outer races. Laboratory and field testing indicates a potential increase in sprocket nose life of over 100%.
